What does an aging life care advisor do?
Medical appointment advocacy: in the room, and after it
We go to the appointments, keep your parent calm so the doctor gets an honest picture, and tell you plainly what was said, never in front of the person we’re there for. We don’t give medical advice. We make sure the medical care is understood and delivered.
Care coordination: follow-through nobody else does
How many therapy sessions were ordered, how many are actually happening, how many more Medicare will cover. Who never called back. The bill no one can explain. We hold people to what they promised, and again next week.
Estate, financial & legal: a second set of eyes
We sit in the room for meetings with estate attorneys, financial advisors, and accountants. We ask the questions that don’t get asked, and make sure our client has a say in decisions being made about their own life, not just decisions made around them.
A dedicated team that knows what you’re going through.
It’s a broken system, and no one should navigate it alone. We have, and we know how to move it. Not in crisis yet? We work just as often with those who want an experienced advocate in place before something goes wrong. We work in Bethesda, Rockville, Potomac, Chevy Chase, and throughout the DC area.
